Recieved with Thanks :)

Yeah. Finally. I received my hard earned prize of the treasure hunt I won at Advertisingh. Though I had almost forgotten about it. But when the door bell rang at noon on a Saturday, thought of going out in the scorching sun to answer that bell was maddening.
Anyhow, it was worth it. The feel of the packet in my hand excited me and I could not wait to tear it open even before signing the receipt for the courier boy. :D
The suspense was killing.
And what was in the packet, I present

Inside it was a sticky note. :D

hehe.. It all right Jagjit, Never mind saying sorry. I am in love with it though I haven't started it yet. Thanks a ton!!

Horror- Scope

Yeah I had nothing to post on here. So, out of usual (I have interest in Astrology but I do not believe in it), I took a test by Bejan Daruwala. Now what he has to say is:

Sun Sign Prediction:
Leo - The sign of the King, the Lover
Personality: Egotistical, proud, authoritarian, trusting, heroic and impulsive. Smile18.com
Positive Qualities: Generous, noble, warm, affectionate and dynamic.Smile18.com
Negative Qualities: Aggressive, boastful, intolerant, reckless and arrogant. Smile18.com

You have a regal bearing and hold centre stage. You are good dramatists and can shine in showbiz. You make inspirational leaders (what say??). You would encourage people who support you but would not tolerate those who do not fall in line with you (care about it!!) Natural sales personalities come under this sign. Proneness to flattery could lead to your downfall (remember that). You have lofty goals and put heart and soul into achieving them. You should learn to be observant of the circumstances in which you operate, as this would ensure success. Your enemies might be defeated. Thoroughbred professionals, good organizers, and highly courageous, you could indulge in noble acts. Your foes may find you formidable. You could be famous, wealthy and enthusiastic. You could be fond of music. You could be short tempered but will be magnanimous. You may be outspoken and lion-hearted (totally). As such you have high morals. You must guard against egoism.

I have to concur on every word. Don't I always say that I am a perfect Leo??

Birth Number Prediction: 5

Life is all about change and growth for you. You thrive on continuous de-structuring your own limits and thereby redefining yourself at every alternative moment. Witty, intelligent and versatile, you tend to unleash your tongue at every possible occasion (oh!! is it??). It is needless to say that words mean the world to you (ahem!!). Take care not to pick on them, who cannot bear the weight of your wit (ahem!!). The idea of settling down seems to tantalize you, but the speed of life being more alluring, pushes you through the chapters of life way faster than it does to any one else (:|).

Oh My My!! He speaks of the dangerous combination here. And also my easy dis-interest.. :D

Arranged Marriage Anyone?

Hmmm.. I am the one who has chosen to get married with a person my folks set me up with. For those who are not acquainted with what is eating me up, refer to Mission Dulha Dhoondo.

It has got on my nerves to an extent that it gives me shudders every now and then. Not that I am skeptical that my parents wont find me a good match, but coz the prospective grooms are sometimes so tacky and fatigued that I wonder what would become of me if I struck with a person for my lifetime who could not keep me interested.

I met such a guy. He had come over to my place with his family. Now when it came to getting to know each other, he proposed that it would be awkward talking circumferenced with relatives and all, so we should go out for a drive and then talk. I dint mind and went with him.

I don't know but I had a feeling that he was somewhat uncomfortable and uneasy. Therefore, I had to initiate talking. And in no less than 5 minutes I reached the 'saturation point' where I could no longer drag the conversation.

I quit. Neither did he speak anything. So I increased the volume of the music and sat staring out of the window. I don't know what got into me and I felt dizzy. What else can you do on an aimless long drive..

And that finally ended up with my dozing off in the car while the guy continued driving a destination less journey..

I felt that when he realized that I am sleeping, he had pulled one of the edges of my Dupatta to make sure I was. And then he would have turned the car towards home.

He literally shook me to wake me up when we reached home. I felt somewhat embarrassed and got out of the car and ran inside the home.
I think I heard him calling behind my back, but I dint stop to answer. OMG!! In such a situation any sane person would feel disgusted. And my sincere condolences to that guy..

Oh and then I heard a faint familiar beep- beep in the back ground and woke up to realize that it was a dream. Or a nightmare. Whatever.. Thank Gawd!!

Now stop rolling and drop in your comments about your take what would you do struck in similar situation. In my as well as the in the guys shoes :D

Awarded Again :D

Thanking Seher, a.k.a. Americanising Desi, for honoring me with Kreativ Blogger Award.

Thanks babes, being personally awarded is really flattering. :D

As the rules go, i have to write about 7 things I love, I long for and I am obsessed with. Raka tagged me with obsession one a while back too..

Ummm... Confessions are a hard thing to do.

1. Life- Yes, I am high on life. never give up is my spirit. Optimism lets me lead it that way. looking forward to new twists, or each turn doesn't let me feel monotoned.. I love all the gifts life has adorned me with including my family and friends.

2. Footwear- being a woman I am obsessed with footwear. Sneakers, runners, heels, flats, mojris, Ballerinas, Stilletoes, You name it, I got it. :D I have a good collection. and even though I am always running short of them and always drooling for another pair. hehe.. I never buy a single pair :D

3. Music- Who doesn't love music. To me music is food for soul. It saves me from stress, boredom and fatigue. Refreshing always, it fills me up with an enthusiasm and a spirit to go on.

4. Chocolate Truffle- Though everyone knows me being a Foodie, I am not a sweets-person, but one thing I cant hold back my temptation for is Chocolate Truffle, Death by chocolate cake and pastries. :D

5. Freedom- I completely love my being single. when I look around, I see all my friends- either married or committed and bound. And I feel so glad that I am free. I do not have anyone to give explanations to about not taking a call, not replying a sms or talking to someone.

6. Knowledge/ Learning/ Wits- ever hyper to learn new things, know about facts. reading, surfing, helps. Also, I am Witty and I know it. Dangerous combi I know. :D

7. Blogging- yes. It is a channel to express myself and I totally love it :D

P.S. Not passing on any awards yet. Wait for the grand event :D

"This is a shuttle cock. Not a tennis ball yaar".
Each time I hear this statement, I feel a pang deep inside.
Yesterday evening, it reached my ears. When Shreya, a kid from the neighbourhood asked me to play Badminton with her.
I have never known how to play Badminton. That is because, I have played Lawn Tennis. Always.
I was fascinated by this game. As a kid, I grew up watching my cousin playing it.

I still remember the day as such.
September 10, 1999
Playing against Surabhi Kalia. Distt Level.
I was one point behind her. When I suffered that Bronchitis attack. I went breathless and everything turned dark.
My mom says I was all blue.

You know how moms are.
I was forbidden to watch the game even on TV then on.

10 years almost.
Anyhow, they say, "life is what happens when everything is going fine".

P.S. I know I had never become a Sania Mirza. :D

Anecdote Platter: The Shopping Exult

The platter this time has only one dish, but it is spicy and sweet simultaneously.

It was yet another luncheon appointment of "the gang" at our Fave Restaurant (read: adda) "My Kind of Place"- MKoP for short.
-Good place, very good food and gooder ambiance.

As always, I were late, rather the last one to show up. And as always, I attracted the attention of people. Not because I am pretty good- looking or something, but for the melodious "knock- knock" composed by my heels on the wooden flooring of the place ;)

As I approached towards our usual table, to my surprise, it stood alone right in its place- sad, and none from the "Superb 7" was apparent.

Then I caught a glimpse of Vanshika waving at me from the far end corner table, on the round, Rest 5 were there too.

I were all set for the bombardment of taunts (oye tera ghar to saamne hi hai fir bhi jaldi nahi aa sakti?? or late nahi aayegi to apni importance kaise show karegi??? n blah blah blah...)

But to another surprise, none of them dint even say a word.. Just kept on giving mischievous smiles..they all had a kind of sarcastic look on their faces..

Amused me!!!!!

I guess now is the time for succinct intro of the "Superb 7 Gang". Waise to we say "chun chun k ikkathhe kiye gaye hain hum log" (in Dharam paaji's diction).
It goes Alphabetically:

Aakash- the naughtiest, the liarest (my personal contribution to the language, not yet communicated to the Oxford);

Karan- over confident, the source of pathetic jokes;

Kunal- the (dunno how come) sweetest, subdued;

Manan- argumentative, hyper-logical (to an irritating extent),

I - the silent but tingy-est;

Sakshi - (read: the b***h);

Vanshika- the topper, illogical;

Moving on with the narration,
So this causticity on their faces, left me with a perplexed expression..
I were unable to get the reason behind their naught smiles and suppressed giggling within themselves..

I: WHAT??
Rest: khee khee khee khee (tittering)
I again: "WHAT IS IT??"
Rest: again sniggering
I: Temme wat is it??
Karan: Just turn around..
I: (still confused -read kaan-fused) Y?
Aakash: Turn Around..

Astonished, I turned around, still my mind trying to figure out the reason for their unusual behaviour.

I caught a glimpse of a guy and a gal (say couple) at the table right at my back. The guy smiled at me. I too returned a casual smile n turned back to face the gang.. My concentration still at the puzzle..

I were still literally unable to logic their comportment.
Then it struck to me... As if the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle apparated in my grip out of thin air..
All what I cud utter was: "Ye to bhaiya hai!!!!!!" (read: cousin elder bro & NOT in the context of natives of UP or Bihar)

I turned back and waved HI!! and winked ;) at him..
He too smiled back.. I moved to their table..

I had not seen or met or even had a faint idea who that girl was, but I must say.. She looked like a Damsel from those fairy tales.. Ravishing, deep eyes, sleek features, complexion comparable to Snow white..

Then Bro formally introduced us.. "Guriya (this is how my family addresses me, no matter I'll be turning 25 this monsoon, but still I m a li'l doll for them, I love it this way :) ), meet Sweeeeety,
n Sweeeeety, this is my cute li'l sis -Guriya- I told u about her.."

She too smiled (as sweeeetly as her name) at me in response of my devilish smile at her and Bro..
He was caught red handed... And the lunch for the gang got sponsored ;) hehe
The gang were eating like gluttons and I were spoiling the "date" ;D

When it had been 2 hrs of my continuous blah blah, Bro came to the point..
"Tune kya dekha???"
I: Kya???
Bro: Aaj yahan kya dekha??
I: Kuch bhi toh nahi.. I am "Amnesiac" ;D

Bro: ;D tune shopping kab karni hai????
I: ;D Kal chalen??

(I hope my readers can now relate the significance of the title to the whole narration)
Bro: ;D

Then appeared the long awaited "32 inch Khurafaati smiles" (copyrighted) (the smile we wore since childhood on accomplishment of a mission of ours.. may it be loading sand in wet hair of a bathed surdy kid next door, or entailing an elder ;D) on both our faces as i moved following bro n my "so called would be Bhabhi" pinching him hard in his belly n winking at him....

I eventually ran to my "home sweet home" literally shouting right from the main gate "MOM!!!! MOM!!!! guess who I met today!!!!!"

AAARRGGGHHH!!!

Yes this is what I feel like now. I had a bad bad day.

  • Woke up to an unexpectedly HOT day.
  • Roads were jamm packed.
  • People donot have traffic senses.
  • Auto-rickshaw drivers have a notion that the roads have been gifted to them as a part of election campaign or something.
  • When a lady is driving (read- I), people assume that the fault has to be hers.
  • Public sector bank employees feel they are kings of the world.
