Pick of the Week

The Pick for this week is "Talli main Talli ho gayi" from the movie "Ugly aur Pagli".
The movie seems to be good one. Ranvir Shorey looks cute ugly n Mallika Sherawat is Pagli as always, but since I liked "Pyaar k side effects", this one from PNC is expected to be a good laugh too.
The album isnt too good, but particularly "Hard Kaur's- Talli" is worth dancing to.
Another song from the same album "Teri yaad aati jati hai by Mohit Chauhan (Silk Route fame)" is just too good.
Yeah, the Bolywood music is changing and I am liking the change.

Jab THEY Met

The Protagonist of this post are two people.
A girl named "Ms. B'ful hair" and a guy named "Mr. Ghaint".
They were best of friends. their frequency matched to an extent that they themselves were amused. Truth being, they were both "so- not- ordinary" on their own selves.
So different and yet so similar, so apart and yet so close. The only constraint being they lived 250 kms apart. The distance is not very long, but it matters to those who cant see each other everyday for the far-ness does restrain them.
They had met many times before, but this time was something important and special. Ghaint's birthday. And also, the time when they were both getting closer emotionally, bonding more than friends, realizing their attachment reaching peaks.
They planned for the day for over more than a month. They talked and talked about it. They would do this and they would do that, they would go and they would wander there, they would shop, they would have lunch together, they would have "Geleto" together, they would go for a movie or they would spend time in some café.
And since it had been long time since they last saw each other, they were more than excited.
Finally the day arrived. With butterflies in her stomach, and teenage awkwardness, 'B'ful Hair' sat on the pre- decided bench waiting for 'Ghaint'. He had caught rough cold and cough and was a little late for their first ever "official date".
After loong hours of waiting in the freezing cold of January, when she saw him approaching, she turned around, silently wishing him to bear hug her from behind only to realize they were standing in a packed public place and he was too 'shy' to shake hands [sounds cute ;) for a guy].
After exchanging the "hiez/helloz", and wishing him b'day (she had beforehand thought of kissing him on the cheek to wish him, but again, damn the jam packed public place) both of them atingled to see each other after such long time, they headed towards nowhere. To find a place to sit and talk and to look at each other.
So they moved on, craving deep down to hold hands, chatting a little too bit, when they found themselves standing outside a shopping mall. They went inside, 'B'ful hair' trying to keep pace with fast but not seemingly furious 'Ghaint' (for one moment she thought that was he in a hurry or that he dint want to be seen with her, was she looking that terrible?).
They lingered in the mall for a while, but then decided to move to a cozier place where they could catch up while sipping on their coffees. And they stepped out towards a "Hookah bar" in the neighbourhood when 'B'ful Hair' startled on the out of the blues 'Ghaint's fingering her hair while she walked besides him. And this called for a giggle.
They chose an acute couch at the bar to be close enough to talk to each other. Talking about each other's lives, updating each other with happenings, and all the crap of the world but not the desired content of thier errand and The date.
'B'ful hair' pulled out a small packet out of her hand bag and passed it to 'Ghaint' as the B'day gift she had brought him- a pair of cufflinks. 'Ghaint' bantered why had not she gift wrapped it and all she could do was a broad smile.
They had their coffee and babbled about this and that.
They stayed there for a while and then moved on to another restaurant for lunch, though none of them felt hungry. While they chose a table to be seated at, 'B'ful Hair' retired to the ladies room, to freshen up a little and to take off her coat to reveal her halter neck top she had purposely chosen for for the occasion.
When she returned to the table, the heat between them grew. They kept sitting there for an hour or so before finally ordering something to feed themselves up.
They excused themselves from the restaurant for the dessert. Geleto was no more a choice, Ghaint had a real bad throat, so they chose to grab a quick slice of cake in the neighbourhood.
'B'ful Hair' forgot to give Ghaint the "B'day bite" and finished her share of the slice so quick and disappointed Ghaint (what he told her days later in their "lazy lamhez").
They sat there in Ghaint's car for what seemed like hours passing in a matter of seconds, shaing pictures, bantering, cajoling with each other, before finally moving for a random long drive.
They dint know where they were heading to, or what they were going to do but they kept on driving for hours, exploring the outskirts of the town, finding a lake they never knew existed, passing through a botanical garden, stealing looks at each other through corners of their eyes, when ultimately, Ghaint gathered all his guts and held out his hand for 'B'ful Hair' to hold.
She was literally waiting for this moment to arrive, and without wasting a single split second she held his hand. They drove through the highway silently holding each others hand, even while changing the gears, occasionally pecking on hands, when he finally pulled off the car on the roadside, and they came closer.
Hesitating Ghaint put his arm around her is what she thought was happening but when she dint feel the touch, for one second she thought she has become numb out of excitement but when she turned around, she found his hand on the back rest of her seat. Furiously, she took his hand and put it around her shoulder and leaned her head on his shoulder for real.
They kept sitting like that silently for a while when at last she heard him say "come closer, I wanna hug you tight".
It was happening. She drew herself towards him to embrace that "Lovely Bandit" (she used to call him in thier intimate SMS moments) and before she knew, she felt his lips being pressed to hers.
Everything else ceased to exist.

My Song

There are some songs, when you listen to them, you just cant stop listening to them.
I dont remember when exactly I first time heard "Daniel Beddingfield's- If you are not the one", but ever since, I call it 'my song'.
The lyrics just bring out the girl within myself (some ppl say I am not very expressive and some say I have rock heart, its just that i dont flaunt my emotions and look like an emotional fool :D hehe). I can hear it in loop for hours [;) :D]. Find it in the side Jukebox.

If you're not the one then why does my soul feel glad today?
If you're not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way?
If you are not mine then why does your heart return my call
If you are not mine would I have the strength to stand at all

I never know what the future brings
but I know you're here with me now
We'll make it through
and I hope you are the one I share my life with...

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

If I don't need you then why am I crying on my bed?
If I don't need you then why does your name resound in my head?
If you're not for me then why does this distance maim my life?
If you're not for me then why do I dream of you as my wife?

I don't know why you're so far away
But I know that this much is true
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I pray in you're the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it , I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

'Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away
And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today
'Cause I love you, whether it's wrong or right
And though I can't be with you tonight
You know my heart is by your side

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it,
I dont understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way I can stay in your arms?

Pick of the Week

Lazy Lamhe frm Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Music is good. Audio is worth listening to. According to sources, the movie is the remake of ridiculous Shahrukh Khan's "öne, two ka four". Saif n rani look good together after "Hum Tum" but could not gather the guts to see them in "Ta Ra Rum Pum". Now lets c wat the movie turns out to be..
Till then lets enjoy the track that has been shot 60 feet below the water surface.

The pick for this week had to be "Bakhuda tum hi ho" from the movie Kismat Konnection but since the song is Atif Aslam's newest number, "rull hi pad jani hai"..

My Top 5 Rain Songs

The connection of a "girl heart" to rain is universal.
The monsoons, my fave season of the year is ready to arrive. Now n then occuring pours randomly remind me of one or the other rain songs n I find myself humming onto the tunes by the time I realize myself shivering in the cold wind n skin piercing rain drops.

5. Ab ke saawan (Shubha Mudgal's)
Both the video and the audio are just appropriate to welcome the monsoons. "Jam ke barse Zara". Dancing in the rain, eyeing the beloved, expressing the intimate feelings of forgetting everything n running to wet oneself in the first pour.

4.
Megha re Megha (Lamhe -1991)
Gr8 audio. Video was good as well, only thing, Sridevi looked "so not young". Justified. She played her own mother in the song. Movie was just fun. Specifically the Parody is too good, also became the USP of the movie.

3.
Bheegi Bheegi raaton mein (Adnan Sami's)
Adnan Sami's initial hit. Lovely song. Though one gets wet in the rain or not, but this song is reminded too often in the drizzle and the cats n dogs as well. I have more than half a dozen versions of the song but my fave is the acoustics one.

2.
Barso re Megha (Guru)
A.R. Rehman's music always works for me. Shreya Ghoshal recieved various awards for this song. Locations in the video are juz fab. Kerela is definitely God's own country. Wish to see the waterfall sometime.

1.
Rimjhim Rimjhim (1942- A Love Story)
Anil Kapoor looks damn cute in the video. Manisha is juz fine. "Bajta hai jaltarang tin ki chhatt pe jab motiyon jaisa jal barse". Lovely music. Lovely number.

Pick of the Week

The latest dance track from the movie "haal-e-dil". Not really looking forward to the movie, but the number is just too good to be avoided. I particulary like Hard Kaur's part "Jee Haan" and Labh Juneja (pyaar karke pachhtaya fame) is as good as always.. Rocking for the week ;)

People change and forget to tell!!

Yes, people do change and forget to tell.
This is about a gal Tia n her best frnd Anu. Together since adoloscence, they were the examplified pair in the town. Adoloscence went by, and youth approached, besides their busy education & seperate circles , they always had time for each other. Tia was a happy go lucky girl and so was Anu. They had lots of things in common. Passion for masti being the main.
They too had disagreements and differences of opinions but those never counted to differences. For Tia never wanted to create hype of anything. At times, when Anu would say something that pinched her, she would never even let her know. Just to avoid any vividness. She always stood by her side may it be emotional or proffesional front.
Tia was so happy to have Anu as her best frnd. At least she thought Anu is always by her side no matter what. She was so close to her that she would tell her darkest of secrets and would rely on her. She would bake a cake on her every birthday and went to wish her.
It was only untill Tia actually felt need of some one to talk to. Times change, and then came a time when Tia needed her best friend, she was in an emotional backdrop only to find out that Anu had other prior works to be done.
She understood, and understood and understood.
Times lingered by and Tia felt that Anu was no longer available. She had work, she had friends, she had priorities and she had no time. And then was Anu's birthday. Tia called her up to wish her only to hear her telling to call her before coming over to her place.
And it was over for Tia.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANU!!
People do change and forget to tell..
But this is life Tia.. U'll need to understand..

The 3 mistakes of my Life- Chetan Bhagat

A fast paced thriller. Not as good as his first book "five point someone", but worth a read, it tells the readers that ordinary people of routine lives are heroes too. The protagonist Govind is an ordinary guy- a loser, but an inspired winner and how things happen to him form the story. And the mistakes referred here are the things he dint do intentionally, but became his mistakes.
Though the book is full of bloopers like the SMS's way back in 2002 and 18 year old Vidhya too cool about loosing virginity and has a typical bollywood masala climax, its a weekend read when there is nothing else to do.
Time Consumed: 4-5 hrs
My Rating: ***
